Avoid skilled players in Satellite Tournies?

I won a STT qualifier for entry into the Aussie Qualifier MTT on Party (1 of 53 receives Aussie Million Package, $11,1130). I'm currently playing in one right now, 53 total, so its winner take all. I was just wondering, in this type of a single payout format, should I scan the list of people signed up before I decide to use my freeroll? What made me think of this is seeing ZeeJustin along with a couple other good players on the list. Does anyone else do this? We use table selection criteria all the time, does that translate to this type of a tourney?
