I'm trying to find a way of connecting a digital TV receiver box to my monitor not using my PC at all.
I'll be able to get the picture OK using a SCART to S-Video connection - but I'm completely stuck when it comes to having the sound be played through normal PC speakers. The digi boxes I've looked at don't have headphone sockets to plug into. Anyone think of any simple way of doing this as the only way i can dream up seems insanely complicated |

The sound is also availible via scart, get a cable that is scart on one end and 2*rca+s-video on the other.
Or a thing like this one: http://www.macoteket.se/product_list...duct_id=343844 |

Thanks
I'll think I'll get me one of those - any ideas on getting from the 2(?) sound channel jacks to something that ends with a female headphone socket - so I can plug my PC speakers in. |

www.maplin.co.uk should have the necessary adaptor/lead, I bought one years ago. From memory, I think it was a 2xRCA to male 2.5mm jack and a reverser (fem-fem adaptor).

lol seems we were thinking along the same lines
is it the 2.5mm components i need instead of the 3.5mm. I measured a standard headphone jack and it seemed to be about 3mm so i wasn't sure what i needed Thanks |

Sorry, no, 3.5mm - 2.5 is the tiny one you rarely see.
