I think the something you missed is the read that the SB is loose and aggressive preflop.

I would've played it the same way.
What is SB going to 3 bet with, then lead out after that flop? AA (unlikely, but possible) KK JJ AK (if trying to scare you off pot) What would he lead out again with after turn? JJ Also a possibility that he was trying to bluff you out after scare cards hit. If there weren't already 8.5 big bets in when he made that Turn bet, then a fold is in order. As it was, it'll cost you 2 big bets to see the showdown and possibly win 10.5 big bets from a bluff attempt or a semi-bluff like KK. Odds are, he flips over Quad Queens (a straight probably would've checkraised turn, but only if he was sure you'd bet). |
