$100 NL cash game, blinds 1/2. I have everyone easily outchipped with $500 (closest is $200).
9-handed. I'm in middle position with AhKh. UTG+2 raises to $12. I re-raise to $40 (any problem with this play?)...and get 4 callers (original raiser folded). Flop 8h8d2h. What do I do? |

Move in as fast as possible.
Edit: Preflop is fine. |

Poosh. You're only 25% against 89, but you're flipping a coin against pp's QQ or less. And maybe they lay down against your "obvious AA" so you have some FE. What you don't want to do is bet small, or check, and let everyone get themselves pot-stuck, and be up against a whole field of who-knows-what.

Bet somewhere to $50~60 on the flop and be prepared to call a push

You want this pot now. There is a full buy-in in the pot already! You need to put maximum pressure on your opponents to fold, and that means pushing.
Edit: I type faster than ajmargarine. =) |

there's at least $212 in there right now since i raised to $40, there were 4 callers, and the original raiser folded.

Anywhere from 50-60 is gonna be a big portion of someone's stack, I see a bet anywhere from 50-75 having the same FE as a push.

And I don't think you can bet $60 and have the same FE as a bet of $160. You ain't folding if someone pushes, so just push yourself. If someone has 8x, that sux; but you're flipping against most other holdings. |

Betting 60 also allows a worse flush draw to call you...
With 4 pre-flop callers in a live 1/2 NL game, there's not much strengh out there pre-flop, you will probably see alotta AJ and KQ, 45s-78s, 22-88. |
