What do you think of a turn raise with next Q?

i dont really like a turn raise because you fold a lot of worse hands when they will continue to fire the river when they are probably drawing to 2 outs. Plus he could 3bet bluff you off the best hand

I'm new to SH but I'll take a shot at it. Why would you call the flop if you plan to raise the turn? Why not just raise the flop? If you believe the flop call is correct then I think you should probably lay it down on the turn when he bets and does not take the free card.

In this situation I think I would probably call on the flop and lay it down on the turn.

No offense but I don't think one should ever lay this down on the turn. My reason for thinking to raise the turn is because the second Q makes it less likely for him to have a Q and I have jacks with ace kicker which I would like to think is ahead then.

I don't see how he can be losing more than 6/7 on the river.

Scrap that, I call. J7 just got counterfeited on the turn. I think we're beating enough of his hand range to call.

I initially wanted to fold on the river as well and I still think it's somewaht close but a call. Raising the turn is ok if we feel 100% comfortable folding to a 3bet. Make sure you aren't agaisnt the kind of opponent that is going to donk you on the river though.
