Default a killer home game set up

I'm been playing in home games for years, and I've even started and hosted a number myself. However, I've always borrowed the chips and cards from other people, and now I'd like to get my own set-up.

What is a good place to get quality clay poker chips, and what sorts of cards should I use? Thanks very much.

As far as chips go there are a lot of different places out there. I bought mine from a friend who had them custom made at www.pokerchips.com . They are quite expensive, but very nice. I also have some really heavy chips that are made of a much higher plastic content than these. They were much cheaper but not quite as nice. Sorry but I don't remember where I bought those.

For cards many people like the KEM cards, but I like Bee cards. They are nice quality, and last for a very long time in my home games. Where we used to go through 2+ decks a night with regular cards, the Bee cards last me several several months per 2 deck set depending on how dirty the players hands are and how rough they handle the cards. I also like the feel of the cards more than almost any other cards I have used. You may want to try to get your hands on a couple types of cards and see which you like better.

eBay is you best bet for everything cheap.

Use www.auctionsniper and place a bid in the lst 4 seconds while you sleep! Tell them 'joetall' sent you and you won't be dissapointed.

I've got the 11.5 (diamond) chips w/500 chips and a Oak case. I think it's the best option. Real clay chips can get expensive.

Peace,
LJ

you may be able to find a better deal but I bought 500 11.5 g chips with two decks of cards and an aluminum case for 160. I am pretty happy with it, but apparently the same set sells for 130 on ebay, my advice buy it from a vendor on ebay.

chips-buy a 3 racks of $1 or .50 chips from 3 casinos in your area. Now you get high quality chips for "free". If your game breaks or you want new colors just go cash them in. I currently have Grey/back 1's from binions, Blue/white 1's from hollywood park and orange 1's from a casino in New Mexico. get kem decks on line.
