Good slowplay of 2nd nuts?
"Aggro man" is 85/20 after 40 hands.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB :#A500AF(Aggro Man)/ (6 max, 5 handed) converter BB :#A500AF(Aggro Man)/ ($88.38) UTG ($66.74) MP ($6.65) Hero ($32.05) SB ($39.83) Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10. 1 fold, MP calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.25, SB (poster) completes, BB :#A500AF(Aggro Man)/ checks. Flop: ($1) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Aggro Man bets $1, MP calls $1, Hero raises to $3, SB folds, Aggro Man calls $2, MP folds. Fastplayed the 2nd nuts. Its "the new slowplay" after all. Turn: ($8) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Aggro Man checks, Hero checks. Go 'n' Stop (if there is such a thing) to show weakness vs a LAG. River: ($8) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Aggro Man bets $10, Hero calls $28.80 (All-In), Aggro Man calls $18.80. It worked! Unless he's got a K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] X[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], of course. Final Pot: $65.60 Results in white below: Aggro Man has 5h Ah (one pair, aces). Hero has Qd Td (flush, ace high). Outcome: Hero wins $65.60. Any glaring mistakes? |

Re: Good slowplay of 2nd nuts?
If he's going to call off all his chips with that bad a hand, you would've gotten all the chips anyway in my opinion. Your way was just a little fancier.

Re: Good slowplay of 2nd nuts?
If he's calling your all-in on the river with TPWK, he's going to get it in earlier too. Plus you pay him to keep drawing with the Kd (which most fish are going to keep trying to draw too), and you get more in from top pairs/two-pairs etc., especially before another diamond falls. Another diamond falls, you're not going to get any money from anyone unless they hold the Kd.

Re: Good slowplay of 2nd nuts?
i don't mind the checking to feign weakness on the turn but it lets alot of hands catchup. i.e. sets or Kd.

don't forget the kill your action part of a 4th diamond. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is why I would try and get it in on the turn. Obviously, if villain will pay off with TPWK with 4 diamonds on the board, then it doesn't matter, but I like getting the money in before a 4th diamond causes him to shut down. |

Re: Good slowplay of 2nd nuts?
I'd just bet $2 on the flop. Might as well try to keep the other callers in there.
On the turn, I'd make a small bet, just another couple of bucks to build the pot up a little. |

Nice Avatar nietzreznor
I think he would have called an all in bet on the turn if he called one on the river |

Re: Good slowplay of 2nd nuts?
Half pot the turn. The 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] isn't scaring anyone. If he called your flop bet, he's calling here. Push the river.
