$33 - flop trips, turn an UGLY full house
I'm interested in how many people would call this push.
I'm most interested in the 'why' of your decision. ***** Hand History for Game 2768668255 ***** 30/60 Tourney Texas Hold'em Game Table (NL) (Tournament 16032837) - Sat Sep 24 17:51:57 EDT 2005 Table Table 12713 (Real Money) -- Seat 4 is the button Total number of players : 7 Seat 2: VILLIAN (540) Seat 3: A (2345) Seat 4: B (1175) Seat 5: C (520) Seat 7: HERO (770) Seat 9: D (1960) Seat 10: E (690) C posts small blind (15) HERO posts big blind (30) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to HERO [ 6c, 2s ] D calls (30) E folds. FOLD...you will still have 640 left to play, and i dont see villain betting there without a King (very unlikely he plays that position with a 6).

Lacking a read I'd fold against a typical $33 player, who I would expect to trip over themselves to get their chips in with a king. I think the problem here is not betting the turn. I think you could safely fold to an ott push of a 100 blocking bet knowing you're beat. As it stands, he could simply be pushing because you checked. |

Re: $33 - flop trips, turn an UGLY full house
Yeah, my read wasn't really that good on him. After hands like these I tell myself to never slowplay again. But then I do.
if I bet the turn I put 100 into a 320 pot, he pushes. Now there is 840 and I need to call 320. This would tempt me. There are 2 kings. Does he really have one often enough for me not to call profitably? Now if I check and he pushes the odds are a little less tempting. Not a justification for not blocking, but just a thought. |

BUT, I'll say this- against a typical $33er (which I'll have to assume he is w/o a read) I don't think he comes ott enough with air not to feel confident you're beat. I don't think the typical $33er has that move in his arsenal. If he's solid, you check/raise the flop. OR, check/call and get dealt, oh, I don't know, ANY OTHER card besides a king on the turn... man, this crud is FIXED!! "only at PP" |
