Default what\'s the deal with donk bets? NC

a donk bet is when someone min bets in a NL game, right? correct me if i'm wrong please.

for example, 5 people limp in to the BB who proceeds to min bet. what are people trying to accomplish? it's really nothing more than a pot sweetener.

is there ever a valid reason to donk bet?

i can see when you have the nutz on the river and your are trying to extract just a little more $$.

also, at higher stakes, the donk bet performs like a post oak bluff on the later streets.

but other than that is it ever good to donk bet?
