It is rare that there is one and only one way to play a hand. Sometimes I'll reraise AK, sometimes I'll call. It all depends on the situation.

I've been meaning to ask you guys about this. Everything I've read says raise and reraise with AK but I wasn't having much success with that so I started playing tighter with it. And I've won a bundle from people who get wed to AK and stay right to the river with nothing, even knocked them out of tournaments. Tonight I got a little overimpressed with AK myself in the UB $200 tournament and was out in about an hour and a half. It took me forever to win that seat in the morning so I wish I'd thrown the AK away when I totally missed the flop. Should have saved the hand and posted it. Oh well, it is very confusing.

When you don't hit the flop then it's not worth to continually go after the hand if your opponent has shown strength.. If the flop is rags you can always bet and you'll probably take the pot down, if it has some high cards be a little more cautious.. Usually with AK on a missed board against one player i'll try and make a move at the pot, if it doesn't work I still get to see the turn and I can always just lose the minimum instead of trying to fire another bet.

I dont mind betting into a flop like Q35, because it's easier for my opponent to put me on a hand that I'm CBing with-- AQ KQ AA KK, etc. Whereas if it is 346, he is more likely going to call down with his 88 or 22 or whatever.

no, that's a really really easy push vs. his range which undoubtedly includes big aces so this hand is kinda horrible

Wow taht's really bad.

He only has 7BB's.. and you only have like 15 or whatever (dont feel likegoing back to check) that's absolutely a push.

If there waas a guy inbetween taht also went in.. then it's close, but still .. probably a push
