Default Ultimate Points

So I was on MEGA tilt tonight and was down like 50bbs so I decided to quit my game, but then I realized that I am super sick and had nothing else to do but play poker so I decided to try the Ultimate Points games. Its basically like play money. Obvious, whatever. But has anyone ever made 2,500,000 so they can get the free 10K??? I am starting to think that might not be a bad idea. I think I could make 2,500,000 up's A LOT faster than 10K playing .50-1 and 1-2...

Anyone ever done this?

It would still take forever. Even if you could win 10 BB/hr/table, this would still require 12,500 table hours! Figure you can 3-table (I think this is the limit)...so it will take you over 4000 playing hours.

If you made poker a full-time job, this would be 2 years...

I think you are underestimating how big of a number 2.5 million is.

It is 250x 10,000. So comparing 0.5/1 to points would mean you are playing 125/250 limit.

Most I ever heard of anyone having is 150k. Best I got up to was 86k before I played like a jack ass and lost 81k of it. Now I just play PLO to fool around with some players there. Come on by sometime.

If you can make 25K a day it would take 100 days to make 2.5 million...aka 10K in real money. Thats my theory at least...maybe I follow through with it, maybe I wont, but I think its a decent idea

You cannot make 25K a day. You can only play 3 tables at a time. I don't think it is possible long-term, but let's say you can make about 200 pts/table hour in these games...so that is 600 pts/hr. Even at 10 hours per day, you are talking just 6000 pts/day. These 6000 points are worth $24. Even at the 0.5/1 tables, this is less than 1BB/table hour.

It is not a decent idea to try this...it is a complete waste of your time because you can earn dramatically more money playing at the real tables. And if you cannot win more money at the real tables, then you *really* have no shot at ever reaching 2.5M UB points.

10p/20p limit is the same as 4c/8c. If you think you can make as much in a 4c/8c game as you can at .5/1, no matter how soft, you're either nuts or you're not beating .5/1.

The rake is better than the real-money nanos, though, which is something. But you don't have the benefit of being able to move up.
