1/2 KQo
1/2 6 handed online
somewhat tight (for 6 handed) MP raises, solid CO calls, sb 3-bets (he loves to raise it up preflop and could have top 50% of hands), I call with KQ in the BB, MP calls and now CO caps. All call. Flop: K rag rag, no draws of any kind. sb checks, I...? |

Re: 1/2 KQo
I bet here, mainly because the hand ranges for everyone are so huge, and it will define MP's/CO's hands. FWIW i don't think CO is that solid. I have him as 39/24/2.56 @ 5.4 avg players sitting.

Re: 1/2 KQo
check - because my guess is MP will bet, CO will raise and SB will 3bet, and then you can fold and hope someone shows AA and someone else showsdown AK or KK :P

Re: 1/2 KQo
...well I decided to check looking for a checkraise and this is what I would really like comments on. My decision was based on the following:
1) If I get raised on the flop, I really don't get much information in regards to AK, KK or AA being out there. 2) A checkraise is often seen as a move in these games and increases my chances of being called down by worse hands. 3) I'm not to afraid to give a free card on this board. 4) I've actually seen an early flop bet fold everybody in this situation a couple of times and a checkraise will at least earn me an extra small bet. Does this make any sense....at all? |

Re: 1/2 KQo
I would bet the flop hoping MP raises and the other two fold. If MP raises, he may have you beat but may also be raising a worse K or QQ or JJ. Pot's big enough that I'm going to the river at this point.
Now if MP raises and CO reraises, this gives you some real info. The way CO played pre-flop, he either has a big hand (just calling expecting the SB to reraise so he can cap) or he just had a drawing hand and figured if i'm calling, might as well cap it and maybe get a free card on the flop if i want). If he's a reasonable player, he most likely won't three-bet with the latter set of hands unless he hit a draw. At this point, the negative implied odds are probably too great and a fold may not be a bad idea. But if you just check and MP bets and CO raises, you have a tougher decision to make since it's much more likely that they both could take such actions with hands worse than yours. This is one situation where a bet to gain info is actually applicable. Of course, all this is quite player dependent. (And I'm discounting any action by the SB since he's probably a complete wacko) |
