Do you lay down this straight against a LAG?
Villain is 55/10/1.4, went to showdown 24%, Won $ at showdown 44%, and check raise 2.2% of actions after 60 hands
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $25 (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Button ($25.50) SB ($22.90) BB ($58.85) UTG ($36.65) UTG+1 ($24.75) UTG+2 ($0) MP1 ($24.25) MP2 ($86.68) MP3 ($51.70) Hero ($24.65) Preflop: Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10. 3 folds</font>, MP2 calls $0.25, 1 fold</font>, Hero raises to $1.25</font>, 3 folds</font>, MP2 calls $1. Flop: ($2.85) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)</font> MP2 checks, Hero bets $1.75</font>, MP2 calls $1.75. Turn: ($6.35) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)</font> MP2 checks, Hero bets $4</font>, MP2 raises to $10</font>, Hero folds. Final Pot: $20.35 How big of a continuation bet do you put in on the flop if any, and how big of a turn bet do you place when the straight falls? I was planning on checking the turn through unless my straight hit. Is the turn fold reasonable? Thanks, JC |

Re: Do you lay down this straight against a LAG?
Why do you bet the turn if your going to fold to a small raise?
I call and re-evaluate the river. Maybe c/c river. |

Re: Do you lay down this straight against a LAG?
I bet the turn to charge someone with a single club instead of giving him a free look at the river. I posted this hand because I felt I played it very weak tight on the turn. I guess I didn't want to face a psb on the river and felt that I was likely up against a flush given how rare a check raise was from villain, but I could see this raise coming from a hand like K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Qx or QxJ [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I guess the better question would be how would one react on the river 1)If a club falls and he bets 1/2 pot 2)a club doesn't fall and he bets 1/2 pot 3) no club and he bets full pot 4) no club and he checks to us

Re: Do you lay down this straight against a LAG?
If he's a LAG with those numbers, he could just as well have two pair or a set. Or even one pair. Or even nothing at all.
