You can put it on the board.....YES!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

Without any doubt, the lamest catch-phrase in all of sports broadcasting.

[/ QUOTE ]
The catch-phrase landscape is far too littered for this to be even remotely true.

Who should I thank for this guy leaving the Red Sox broadcast booth to join the White Sox?

Yeah, that's pretty much one of the gayest things I've ever heard.

The Giants win the pennant! The Giants win the pennant! The Giants win the pennant! The Gaints win the pennant!

I guess we'll be hearing that one again in about forty years. Hard to discern who's a bigger idiot on that team, the star cheater or the senile manager. Sorry, Giant fans, but it's all true.

At least that was a one-time spontaneous thing.

I think it's lame when I hear it after the yankees wrap up a 7-2 win over some mediocre team but when a big game ends dramatically (walkoff, big strikeout with the bases loaded) then I think it's hilarious.

I agree. I know these catchphrases are lame as hell, but hearing Hawk call "You can put it on the board....YES!" on the walkoff by Crede last night makes it seem alright.

Hawk has the market cornered on these little phrases. It seems like he's got one for every situation..."gas, he gone", etc. I know they're most likely annoying to anybody else, but to a Sox fan it's part of the fiber of the team.

Funny article by Scoop Jackson, only really funny because of the radio skit he quotes in the beginning. The skit uses a horse race as an analogy for the AL race this year. The horse names are hilarious.
