Re: 55 in the BB
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] for those folding: you shouldn't have called his preflop bet then. this is one of the best flops you could see other than getting a 5. you're ahead of a ton of hands here. [/ QUOTE ] Even though I advocate raising this flop I do not think this advice is correct. You immediately get 6-1 pot odds and will flop a set 1 time out of 8.5 (am I right?). Including implied odds any pp is worth a call for set value alone here. [/ QUOTE ] i'll let someone else handle the math on this, but my point is that you are missing a TON of BBs by folding every time you do not hit a set especially on a flop of this nature. |

Re: 55 in the BB
You are about 7.5:1 to make a set on the flop.
So if you want to just call the preflop raise for set value, your play will probably be profitable with implied pot odds. However Absolute Luck's advice is absolutely right and the more profitable play. If you can get the pot HU against the preflop raiser and he only has overcards, you become a big favourite to win. Even with a loose player hanging around to pad the pot, you are still probably + EV. I am not sure about the odds postflop, but preflop a pair is a 55:45 favourite against 2 higher cards. |
