Has anyone noticed improved play at Party's SnG's? I typically play 10+1 Limit HE. Over the past couple weeks I have found it pretty difficult to win these. While I have had several 2nd's and 3rd's my win rate is way down. My cards have been very marginal, but it never used to matter much. Even when I was getting bad cards I knew all I had to do was hold out for 3 or 4 good hands and I would be in position to win. The other thing i have noticed is the massive number of people playing on any given night. In the past you might see 10k people on fri or sat night. I have noticed that even on a week night there will be 14-15k. Should be good if the extra players are weak players, but with my win rate lately I wonder.

I just started my foray into online poker at party.
I have played these so-called $10+1 sit and go's... I have done exceptionally well at the limit and pot-limit ones I have played... I am shocked at how poorly people play. I don't always win or place because sometimes you take a bad beat, crappy run of cards.. but if I get something to work with and don't suffer any horrible beats, I'm golden.... I guess it depends what you play though.. I'd never played a sit and go and won my 2nd one I played... Maybe it's the dreaded "i've never cashed out" theory. |

I play at Party every day. I have noticed that it became quite tough for about 10 days, and now it's back to soft. I have no clue why. Maybe for the 10 tough days, I was just unlucky enough to always sit on a tight table.

There seem to be more and more people on Party all the time. Low limit Party ring games seem as soft as ever. I just started playing SNG's at Party over the weekend and $5+1 NLHE SNG seemed pretty easy to me as well. Not sure how they compare to previous weeks.
BTW, I hate the way the SNG's work at Party. At UB it is MUCH easier to get into an SNG. At Party the screen to choose a table refreshes so slowly that usually by the time I can find an open SNG and click on it, the game has started. If, by chance, I can get to the table when there is an open seat, by the time I hit the little radio button to agree, someone has usually stolen my seat. It is very frustrating. |

I've moved to the $10 SNG's mainly because of the rake and would have to agree that things have settled down a bit there. The games are still immensely beatable but it seems to take a bit longer. I also agree with the poster about the refresh rate on the screen but I've found that if I click on another tab frequently it will refresh quicker when I do come back.

At least by my results. And these are all $30 and up so I can't imagine the $10 SNGs are any tougher.
Results of my last 20 SNGs from Party, all within the last week. Ok, so this is a thin excuse to show off the nice little in-the-money streak I had . But they're as soft as ever, IMHO. <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre> Fee Place Money $55.00 6 $- $33.00 3 $60.00 $55.00 3 $100.00 $55.00 3 $100.00 $55.00 2 $150.00 $33.00 2 $90.00 $33.00 3 $60.00 $55.00 1 $250.00 $108.00 2 $300.00 $55.00 2 $150.00 $55.00 3 $100.00 $108.00 3 $200.00 $108.00 3 $200.00 $108.00 5 $- $55.00 2 $150.00 $55.00 7 $- $55.00 5 $- $55.00 3 $100.00 $55.00 7 $- $55.00 3 $100.00 $1,246.00 $2,110.00 </pre><hr /> |

Yeah, just wish I could have had more 1st place finishes. Just one in that 20 tourney span after moneying so often. Often I just sneak in with the short stack after others mismanage their stacks down the stretch.
We had a debate about Party SNGs and I defended them, but a good point was made about how once you're in the money it becomes much more a crap shoot then, say, Paradise. I'll have to make a comparison of all the different sites I play SNGs regularly at (PP/Party/Stars) to see what really gives me the best EV over all. I might make more 1st places at Paradise, but money more often at Party. |
