Spewing or standard? 87o blind steal
Opponent is 17/12/5 after about 30 hands. My only history with him is I openraised a couple orbits back, he 3-bet me, and I check folded a raggy flop.
PP 5/10 I open in the SB with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], he 3-bets, I call flop is 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I lead, he raise, I 3-bet, he calls turn is A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] bet,call river is J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] bet, raise, fold I think all streets are debatable |

Re: Spewing or standard? 87o blind steal
i check/call the river for sure. i don't know what worse hands are calling at this point. with those stats i'd think he'd have enough sense to fold 55 or 66 here.

Re: Spewing or standard? 87o blind steal
Preflop: Good.
Flop: Good. Turn: Hummmm.....After that card I'm thinking I want to showdown this hand as cheaply as possible. I check and let him bluff at me. River: Another check-call-pray. With the pot being rather large, I really don't want to put myself in position on the turn/river to make a bad fold. |

Re: Spewing or standard? 87o blind steal
I usually fold these situations preflop, although given this guy's stats, I understand why you attempted to steal. After getting raised on the flop, I call and hope for a 4th street blank. Despite the draw-heavy board, I check-fold the turn when an ace hits. Given this betting pattern, I think you're more likely than not dealing with a legitimate overpair hand like JJ.

Re: Spewing or standard? 87o blind steal
given his aggression level, I figured that leading the flop would be better because he seemed like the kind of guy to autoraise just about anything he 3-bet with preflop.
is check-calling the river really better than check-folding? |
