Default closing a party/empire account and opening a new one

i've been thinking of closing my empire account and opening a new one because i'm not happy with my empire screen name. there's no scandal or need for anonymity, i just wish i'd picked a different name. i'm just curious if anyone knows the policy on this, and/or if anyone has done this and had any problems.

does anyone know if they would care if i did this, and used an initial deposit bonus?

or would they care if i did it and did NOT use an initial deposit bonus?

of course, i am assuming they don't allow you to just change your username, but if this is not the case, then the problem is easily solved.

as i write this i realize i should probably just have emailed empire support on this one, but now that i'm almost done i'll just post anyhow. apologies if anyone considers this an innappropriate use of space.

Is there a way to close an account? Not sure if there is a way. This doesn't seem like it would be allowed, as users could abuse sign-up bonuses this way.

Ninja,
Have you tried asking for a name change?

Maybe the sysadmins can do this for you.

I think they will allow you to change your screen name one time.

I hope you're not suggesting that anyone in the 2+2 internet forum would ever do such a thing...

Of course not! Seriously, was just responding to the post. The responses that suggest a name change are the way to go, if what you want to do is a name change.

in case anyone is curious, i've contacted empire support and they seem very willing to simply changing the account name. i didn't expect that at all, but it solves my problem!

thanks to all who replied.
