I live in Los Angeles and anyone who has lived here for 5 years or more has seen a large growth in the number of Hispanics. I believe that Hispanics are the number 1 populated race in Los Angeles (and possibly California, not sure on this though).
I'm not bringing this up as a racist issue, I'm brining this up for a financial investment discussion. With this huge growth in the number of Hispanics in the USA, what would be a good way to invest? I was thinking of 3 main things: US based Spainish Television - (Unavision, Telemundo, etc) US based Spanish Radio - (Vida Nuevo, La Raza, etc) US based Spanish newspaper - (La Opinion, etc) I don't if these companies have stocks, but it seems like some kind of financial opportunity is there. Thoughts? |

Let me first say that I'm a complete newb, but here's what I think:
I really don't think spanish radio/television/newspaper will make that much money with the few thousand people moving in LA. That's mainly because the number is nothing compared to the actual number of people in South America. Also, I think that spanish radio/tv companies themselves don't make any extra money on people from LA listening/watching. Sattelite companies that actually make the services available are probably the ones who make money but not the spanish tv/radio companies themselves. |
