KK on A66r -- thoughts on this akward situation...
Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 max, 4 handed) converter
Preflop: exist is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, exist raises, SB calls, 1 fold. Flop: (5 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, exist ??? What does everyone think of checking here? An ace isn't folding, but QJ type hands usually will. Checking looks suspicious but might cause certain players to bluff or allow them to catch a pair to call down with. |

That's an excellent idea. It's a shame it never occured to me before I read your post.

Unless you think villian will regularly call here with less than a pair of aces, I think checking here is a good idea.

I asked this earlier and the consensus was to bet and start checking on the turn.

Because people love to peel with almost anything on paired flops.

Checking seems prudent to try to get more bets in later. There is only a small set of cards that could hurt you, your HU, and the pot is small.

Re: KK on A66r -- thoughts on this akward situation...
my normal line is to bet the flop and check the turn if called and call river if bet into or bet if checked to.
Now that I think about it, however, I think checking this flop is pretty good if you can't fold to a checkraise. You give someone a chance to pair up their QJ or whatever or induce a bluff, you also save some against an ace that would checkraise. Yea, it looks suspicious, but there's some really dumb players at 10/20 who are gonna think you're scared of the ace and will bet the turn. |
