Re: Test your hand reading skills
[ QUOTE ]
Hand #1 2/4 no limit 6 max online. The table is wild.... someone is doubling literally every other hand. Button is a decent player but overvalues his hands in raised pots. I am in the small blind with roughly $600....4 players call $15 p flop. Pot$60, Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Checked around to the button$~700 who has bet pot button clicked. I call.. rest of table folds. Pot~$120. Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I lead for $99. Button quicly calls. Pot ~$320. River: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I move in for about $430. Button insta-calls. What do I have? Hand # 2 2/4 no limit 6 max online. Hero is in the BB with $800, folded around to the SB $700 who completes...I check. Flop: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB checks. I bet $7. SB Craises to $40. I call. Pot ~$90. Turn:3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB checks. I bet $75. Sb Craises again to $200. I call. Pot~$500. River: 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB checks... I move all in for ~$550. What do I have? [/ QUOTE ] One more thing, in the 6 max NL 600 and 400 games, you'll take money off donks in same way everytime here. When he's got 48, 49 and you have the K4, A4. That's what your looking for. Badly played trips by donks intoxicated with "monster they've turned" is where the money is. |

First, why do you think the button just called on 4th street? Was he slowplaying or do you think he was genuinely worried about being behind and/or getting reraised off his hand? Second, concidering the button's tendicy to overvalue his hands in this situation, what was your reason(s) for betting 4th street? Did you not mind getting raised, as in it's an easy push for you if you're raised? Or are you really folding if he raises the pot (he seems to like the bet pot button)....Okay, I just reread your post closely and realized that "overvalues his hands" may not necessarily mean "gets overly aggressive with his hands." Was that the case? If not, I'm not sure I get your smallish 4th street bet. Can you give me some insight? - Chris |

Re: Test your hand reading skills

you have 88/44. he has AQ. you have 67. he has K4. [/ QUOTE ] I agree 100% on hand 1, hand 2 is contains a much wider range of hand values, and I could make a lot of decent guesses. I sure as hell wouldn't put villain on a 4 though. |
