Had a look at the section from HFAP before I went to bed. You are right about only trying to steal from loose blinds with your better hands. But the example they give for what I'm talking about is a6o. a6s does have a bigger equity edge, maybe making it more right to raise preflop, but it's not going to be much easier to play if you miss the flop, which is what HFAP is talking about. Anyways, I have been trying it out and liking it a lot, so just thought I'd throw it out there.

I'm still a little lost on how to play these HU situations when you attempting a steal and don't hit the flop.

Was I supposed to call his flop bet even though I might only have 1 overcard, a backdoor flush, and weak backdoor STR8?

any sort of read is very very helpful in situations like this...as is awareness of our own table image. without these, it is hard to comment proactively on how profitable any given move is. it is clear however, that folding the flop locks in the loss for the hand at 1bb.

sometimes it's fun to just play poker headsup...
clearly our hand is marginal on the flop, however i don't mind calling a single SB here and there to get funky. you have several cards that give you a good draw for the river...
