Villain is likely a 2+2er: 26/16/2/3/2 after 700 datamined hands. No read. I've been at the table a few orbits and taken down a few pots w/o showing down due to sheer aggession.
Party Poker (6 max, 4 handed) I open raise UTG with red queens. Button (2+2er) 3-bets, blinds fold, I cap. Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> I bet, button calls. Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> I check, button bets, I raise. River: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> Bet, call. Is there any reason to play this hand this way or am I just amusing myself (read tilt). |

i'll only do this if me and the villain have been going at it all night and it's clear he's out for revenge.

I think this play is pretty transparent, given that you capped UTG, you would usually bet this turn even if you only had overcards. If I was villian I would check it through just to get to showdown, even if I had top pair, because a CR is so likely. But by checking to him, you give him the option of a free card if he has a flush draw, or AK which has 6 outs against you. I would only use this play against an aggressive donk, not a thinking TAG, a river CR might be more appropriate against the latter.
Edit : Probably best to do this when your hand isn't vulnerable to overcards, and there are no logical draws villian could have, so if you have pocket aces or a set. |

I'm pretty sure this play will cost you money over time. Turn will be checked more than half the time with an observant 2+2er behind you, I don't care what his aggression stats are. If he has a big pair, or just hit AT, you're getting raised on the turn anyway and paid on the river after you 3 bet. Why lose the extra big bet in those cases as well?

I don't like this against a TAG/2+2er. It will get checked through too often. Besides, when u c/r most of 'm will fold. I do this almost always when I'm upto a bet-when-checked-to LAG (the 60/30/2 types). They often call this down with little cuz they suspect a bluff when u play it this way.
