Default QQ from MP. LOTS of action

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter

UTG ($24.05)
Hero ($48.10)
CO ($39.30)
Button ($5.30)
SB ($24.85)
BB ($17.07)

Preflop: Hero is MP with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
UTG raises to $2, Hero raises to $3.75, CO calls $3.75, 3 folds, UTG raises to $8, Hero calls $4.25, CO calls $4.25.

Flop: ($24.35) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)

What now? should this be an easy fold?

How did i play the queens preflop? Did i donk it up by reraising and then just flat calling the 3 bet? I really didnt expect CO to call preflop. I think he called only becasue i did... if i would have folded he probbaly would have too.
no read on UTG, notes on CO say "smart player, does not over play big pairs, checked behind on river with AA on paired board to win nice pot."

Yes. Re-raise $6-8, and fold to his 3-bet.

Looks like UTG opened with a large 8xbb raise. So once you get 3-bet, the stacks are now not big enough for you to have implied odds on hitting a set. I think because of the size of UTG's opening raise, I would just call it, so as not to get in the situation you're in now: after getting 3-bet, you have to fold.

I don't mind the minraise preflop so much. It used to really bug me, but I use it from time to time these days. It actually does a few things. It *usually* shuts out everyone behind you from entering the hand without a serious premium hand. It also tells you alot by how the PFR reacts. Here he raised you. You pretty much have to fold preflop to that or push. Calling wasn't an option.

Hey CS,

Extremely easy fold. When he 3 bets preflop, you should be playing for set value. Also, what is with your reraise preflop? I'd make it at least $6.

Very carefully when an ace flops. If it's heads up, I'd bet ~2/3rds and try to check it down if he calls that bet.

According to the 5/10 rule, OP shouldn't have made the second call to play for set value as villian's stack isn't large enough.

Meh. I didn't notice UTG's stack size. If UTG had a full stack, I would argue that calling 4$ here to see a flop in a 24$ pot where you have big implied odds would be fine. But yeah, with his stack size calling for set value isn't really an option.
