Bottom pair on the flop, 6 players
5/10
I'm on the button with 8 7 EP limps, MP limps, I call, SB calls, BB checks Flop: A K 8 It is checked to me, I check it through Turn: 3 Checked to me again, I pause for a second and bet How do you like the bet on the turn? The only thing stopping me was the field of 5 other players. I think the flop was a clear check, but when checked to again on the turn that changes things a bit. If the turn card had been an overcard to my 8 that probably would have swayed my decision to check through on the turn rather than bet. I’ll post the results later |

Re: Bottom pair on the flop, 6 players
I would bet the flop when checked to on this scary board. Unless you think a checkraise is particularly likely. On the turn it certainly looks like you have the best hand.
P.S. Putting the suits up helps as it is better to bet if there's no 2 flush out there, and if you have a backdoor flush draw. |

Re: Bottom pair on the flop, 6 players
I think that you have to bet now, I wouldn't have thought a bet on the flop was bad either. If you get checkraised, you could try and get another 8 or 7 on the turn, and fold if you miss. Once it gets checked twice, you are likely ahead, so you could very well have won the pot right there. If you were called, I think that you could check the river down.

Re: Bottom pair on the flop, 6 players
I would have checked the flop and then bet the turn to maybe win right then or to see where my K's and A's are.
I would have folded this preflop, you dont have enough players in, imo |

Re: Bottom pair on the flop, 6 players
Sorry about the suits, I had the UBB codes in for them and they somehow were edited out between copying and pasting from Word. Weird
[ QUOTE ] I would have folded this preflop, you dont have enough players in, imo [/ QUOTE ] I was fairly certain the blinds were going to call, plus I was on the button so I figured it was +EV |
