How are these charity games legal? Are there limits on the number of events per month/year?

Is this an statewide "legal" endeavor or county/city? Any info would be appreciated.

They're definitely legal; I believe it's statewide.

There is a company here that runs charity tourneys ( Reece's Online ) and they had a tournament shut down over the summer because the organization had exceeded its allotted number of charity gambling events (I think for the month, but I'm not sure of the time period).

The games as run are illegal. It is legal to have the poker games if they dont' make any money. TYpically what they do is they wrote down half of what is dropped and give that to the charity and keep the other half off the book to pay people. They typically snatch double or triple rake from each pot so the shortfall doesn't show up on the books (and so they make more moeny).
