some lines for AK when you miss the flop
What kind of line will you adopt against one other player when you have only over cards, and no straight or back door straight draw.
Maybe a board like: 5h 8d 2c If I opened for a raise and got called by one other player, should I be aiming for a check raise on this flop ? Then fire again on the turn ? if he calls the turn, and the river doesn't pair us up, how often are you betting the river ? I'll almost always check against a guy who will call when touching anything at all. So when would it be correct to bet the river. Anyone check raise the turn instead ? |

Re: some lines for AK when you miss the flop
why do you need to check raise at all?

Re: some lines for AK when you miss the flop
I maybe do it 50% of the time to be honest. Just trying to set up some other lines. But I'm far from good at SH, if I was I wouldn't be asking so many questions.
Ok so you bet out your AK, and get raised. Call and fold if unimproved on the turn ? |

Our bet has good folding equity, and our peel is great for a check-raise on the turn, unless of course our villian is capable of a free card play. |

Re: some lines for AK when you miss the flop
the part I'm missing is this:
generally in 3/6 people are calling that 3$ flop bet with nothing. 1 over card, a backdoor draw, squat. So is there really equity in that bet ? To me the turn bet is the one that people usually toss their hands on. I just hate making it and getting called. |

[/ QUOTE ] if they're calling with everything, then its a value bet, as AK will still be likely ahead. and if they're peeling with anything, a turn bet is almost always correct. |
