Pocket 88
Opponent seemed like the typical loose passive .50 - 1.00 player based on a about 40 hands.
BB was relatively loose, but not overly so. Two questions. 1. Should I have raised pre flop to try to get the BB out and get the hand heads up? 2. Is leading out with the 88 all the way to the "river" correct here? 1. Should I have raised pre flop to try to get the BB out and get the hand heads up? [/ QUOTE ] Yes -- 88 plays well in a multi-way or shorthanded pot. Knocking the BB out would be a good thing here. [ QUOTE ] 2. Is leading out with the 88 all the way to the "river" correct here? [/ QUOTE ] Against a calling station I think this is fine. He'll call you down w/lower pieces of the board or lower pocket pairs so it'll pay off in the long run. |

Re: Pocket 88
I definitely raise this preflop.
Post-flop is perfect. |
