Re: Playing 99 OOP
The river bet/fold is really awkward given the stack sizes and the pot size. Either push him all-in or check and fold.
Which option to go with depends on what kind of player he is, and what kind of player he thinks you are, if he's a thinking player at all. |

Re: Playing 99 OOP
Your line is quite good, but I check/fold the river. (although I probably call the 18 if I bet 10 (18 to win 78 seems like good value)).
Another way is to bet hard at the flop and push the turn. Another way is to not raise preflop and play it from there (although cheaper). Plenty of ways. Your line is ok - but again I check fold the spade, as I cant put him on a hand that I beat that will call a bet, and blocking commits me (well it would have committed *me*). |

Re: Playing 99 OOP
You basically have to call that river raise, which is why the other replies say either check/fold or put him all in. Im not a huge fan of raising out of the blinds with this hand but I do this occasionally myself depending on the table texture.

Re: Playing 99 OOP
if you are going to raise this out of the blinds then i'd raise it larger. Your goal with the raise should be to take it down right there....$3 isn't going to do that.
Check call or check fold that river depending on your reads. After you bet $10 i think you have to call $18 more. |
