Re: Did Stuey Ungar have a \"partner\"?
[ QUOTE ]
High Roller - the stu ungar movie discusses the backer in detail, although im not sure how accurate the movie is. Overall the movie kinda sucks and michael imperiolli is disappointing though. [/ QUOTE ] I thought it was alright. Although the whole mysterious interview throughout the movie was a bit confusing. I guess it was supposed to be his "demons". |

Re: Did Stuey Ungar have a \"partner\"?
George Roberts was an absolutely phenomenal bass trombone player that my favorite drinking buddy likes to drone on about. Perhaps I should find a new drinking buddy.

Did Bob Stupak bankroll him at all?
I thought I heard Mike Sexton say that somewhere. |

I don't mean wife or girlfriend. I mean gambling partner... bankroll partner... best friend... something of that nature. Anyone know? [/ QUOTE ] If you haven't read "One of a Kind : The Rise and Fall of Stuey "The Kid" Ungar, The World's Greatest Poker Player" you're missing out. It will not only give the answer to your question (yes, he was backed at times - often by people with mob ties) but is a phenomenal read. Really great book. |
