Calgary casinos
Some people call Calgary the Las Vegas of the north, so one would think that the casinos there are pretty good. I've heard good and bad things about some of the casinos in Calgary, but I have no idea what one has the best and biggest poker games in town. I've heard that the new Elbow River room is really nice, but that the Stampede Casino has a very limited selection of games. I watched the Canadian Poker Tour event at Cash Casino, but it looked like there was just some tables on the main floor and not a dedicated poker room.
Can any Calgarians share their experiences with the casinos there? |

Re: Calgary casinos
If you consider stinky dumps the LV of the north then you would be correct. The casinos presently open are real [censored] holes.... 3 new ones in construction and I cant comment on those.

Re: Calgary casinos
I've only played at the Stampede Casino. It is almost exclusively 3/6 poker (with a kill). I think everywhere else starts at 4/8.
If it is busy and there is enough interest they occasionally get other games going. (Last time I was there, they were trying to get a 4/8 dealer's choice game going) (Actually I lied, I played a tournament at Cash Casino once. It was ok, but even though the room is non-smoking, it is directly connected to the rest of the casino so I left smelling like an ash-tray.) |
