By folding the turn, am I just setting myself up for getting run over/bluffed on the turn constantly? Or am I just too stubborn on the turn?

Your read on your opponent is that he is loose passive. Why even have the read if you aren't going to use it?

The main reason you are folding here is because when this type of player check/raises you, your outs probably aren't clean even if you had odds to call.

Often a check/raise here will mean 2 pair or better and even when it doesn't you sometimes will be reverse dominated.

A check/raise turn bluff from this type of player is not something you need to be worrying about at 5/10 unless you've seen him do it before.

1.2 isn't that passive for a 53 vpip player. That said, to the OP: if I'm worried about a raise from a worse hand I would usually check behind on the turn and call a river bet. Otherwise I would bet/fold. Only against super laggy/maniac types would I bet then call down. I'd never take your line.
