Is this a call?
Pokerroom 22
Seat 2: ($2,720 in chips) Seat 3: ($1,780 in chips) Seat 4: ($3,255 in chips) Seat 5: ($1,635 in chips) Seat 6: ($1,790 in chips) Seat 7: ($2,735 in chips) Seat 8: Hero [KD,9C] ($1,085 in chips) ANTES/BLINDS Seat 7 posts blind ($25), Hero posts blind ($50). PRE-FLOP Seat 2 bets $150, Seat 3 calls $150, 3 folds, Seat 7 calls $125, Hero folds. Pot's 500, it's 100 for me to call. Great odds, but what am I hoping for? Flop a 9 and worry about overcards? Flop a K and worry about someone with a better kicker? Do you call just in case it's that one time the flop's a miracle? |

Re: Is this a call?
No. This is an easy fold, you don't flop trips/two pair anywhere near enough to compensate for all the times you're dominated etc.

Re: Is this a call?
OK, that's what I thought. Just one of those hands that would have paid off really fantastically if I'd been foolish enough to play it. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
FLOP [board cards QH,JC,10D ] Seat 7 checks, Seat 2 checks, Seat 3 bets $1,630 and is all-in, Seat 7 folds, Seat 2 calls $1,630. TURN [board cards QH,JC,10D,8S ] RIVER [board cards QH,JC,10D,8S,5C ] SHOWDOWN Seat 3 shows [ QS,KH ] Seat 2 shows [ KS,JS ] Seat 3 wins $3,760. |

Re: Is this a call?
Don't be results-oriented. It will kill you in the long run.
Even if the flop brought 777 one time, you still should fold your 72o UTG 100% of the time. |

Re: Is this a call?
This would still be a scary flop for you since the original raise could have meant AK and you could be drawing dead. Fold it and look for a better spot.
