If your going to raise, you definitly need to do it on the turn. This way you can make one pair hands that beat think they need to pay 2 bets to showdown against what is very liley a straight.

Why wouldn't they think they need to pay 2 bets to see a SD if I C/R the flop and lead the turn? We don't know what the turn will bring, so we can't count on getting a favroable card like the 6 (for a hand coming out of the BB) when we make our flop decision.

I think he means instead of trying to bluff raise the river, arkady should bluff raise the turn when the straight card hits. He just responded to your post. I think.

Checkraise the flop Ak will throw it very fast so will other weakish hands that could beat you on the turn

On the Turn MP likely has an overpair, no hand that you beat bets the turn.

I fold the river, your raise is spewing, if he doesnt have an overpair he has trips or AT at the very worst, he isnt folding any.

once i build that pot with a flop c/r, then i will definetely have to showdown. the whole idea of playing it this way is to see what comes on the turn/river.

basically if anyone had the 7 or turned/river a higer pair, i get away cheapely. everyone is advocating raising somewhere but other than dumping money into the pot with what seems to be a good hand/draw, nothing else gets accomplished.

that being said, i am still not sure what the verdict is.

will that river raise fold a better hand? thats really what interests me most, i will be stubborn about the rest of the hand in this particular situation as I felt I danced through it in the most elegant fashion possible.
