MySpace for 16 year old girls?

So I just got an e-vite to MySpace. The "social networking" site. Also read an article about it in yesterdays NYT. Seems rather trite and pointless, but still fun. How many of you use Myspace/Friendster etc., and what do you do with it? Or are all these sites completely lame and ridiculous?

I think myspace is a decent way to find out about underground local bands. Alot of them have music on the site u can listen to other then that maybe u might find a few people u graduated from HS with.
