Induce bluff?
I am dealt AdKc UTG
Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (8 handed) converter Preflop: 1 fold, UTG raises, MP1 calls, 5 folds, BB folds, Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)(2 players) UTG bets, MP1 calls. Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets, MP1 calls. River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] So MP1 is Loose with his calling standards and would definatly call a raise cold with QJ or JT, but he's also agressive if he flops a hand. What's your play on this river? |

Re: Induce bluff?
bet/call...especially given your read since it looks like he probably DOESNT have a busted draw but more likely a marginal made hand (or some type of weird slowplayed monster?).

he's also agressive if he flops a hand. [/ QUOTE ] Is a flush or straight draw a hand? What about a pair of 8s or 9s? How aggressively will he play those hands and will he bet the river when checked to with them? Bet-call is my default, but I definitely look for opportunities to checkraise in situations like this. |

Obviously if you knew your opponent well, and you knew by the action that he must be on a draw than checking and calling to induce the bluff would make more money than betting out. But there is not enough information to deduce that your opponent has a busted draw even on this board. |

Re: Induce bluff?
against a smart player its a check raise b/c he has an ace a lot of the time...but with the 9s8s out there this guy could just wanna see a showdown.
bet and call a raise. Barron |
