Ultra Loose passive calling station Colorado $2 to $5 game. No other player at the table understands concepts such as the semibluff, raising for a free card, odds, etc. This seems to be a any two will do, see you at the river game of poker, and I use the term poker loosely.
1. I get AK of spades in the blind. 6 callers, I raise, UTG re-raises, 4 cold call 2 bets. Flop AK7 rainbow. I check, UTG bets all call, I c/r, UTG 3 bets, 2 call 2 cold. I 4-bet all call Turn 9. I bet all call River 7. I bet, 2 fold, LP raises, I call and loose to trips 2. I get J's in CO, 4 callers to me I raise, Button calls all other muck Flop 479 rainbow. I bet, called Turn 2. I bet, called River K. I bet, called and loose to K3o. 3. I get Q's in CO and raise after 5 callers, Button calls, all else muck. Flop Qs4d5d. I bet, raised, I 3-bet called. Turn Js I bet, called River 9s I bet, raise, I call and loose to 54s. 4. I get Ks in CO. 3 callers have called 1 bet to me, I raise, Button calls two, and 4 others come along. Flop 38J rainbow. Checked to me, I bet, all call. Turn 7. Checked to me, I bet, Button all in for $2 more, all call River 2. Checked to me, I bet, two fold, and I get C/R and call. Set of 2's takes side pot, and set of 7's takes main pot. 5. I get KJc in blind in unraised pot, 5 callers. Flop 9c10sQc. I bet, 1 call, MP raises, 1 call, I raise, fold, two call. Turn 3c. I bet, 2 call. River 5c. I bet, fold, raise, I call. I lose to Ac8d. 6. I get 8's in CO in unraised pot. Flop A85. Blind bets, 2 callers, I raise, button and blind call, 2 fold. Turn 5. Blind bets, I raise, fold, call. River A. Blind bets, I call. I lost to A2o full. Although this is somewhat of a rant and only a small selection of hands I played in approx. 5 hours. I would like some feedback if this is just a series of suckouts by a bad table of if anyone can see where I'm mis-playing my hands. Overall, even though it was a bad table, I took 3.5 bets an hour home with me but can only imagine how much more I could of gotten here. |

Hand 1 - There are 2 big clues that give away the fact that your opponent has a big set. First, he limp re-raised. Second, you made a very strong move by check-raising the entire field, and he still 3 bet you. I would call from that point on.
Hand 2 - What can you do... Hand 3 - another tough one...You're gonna lose some $ when a set gets cracked Hand 4 - Gee, another tough beat Hand 5 - You did fine Hand 6 - Again, bad luck. Except for the first hand, I would have played them all the same. Hope this wasn't all in the same session. |

Lil,
Appreciate the advice. I didn't list hand one clear enough about the winner, UTG who was betting and raising with me wasn't the winner. The calling station who stuck around after all of this action hit his trip 7's on the river. Yeah, this was in one session. This is a little extreme compared to avgerage but not really that far off from the number of bad beats we see in $5 CO poker. |
