The Superbowl & Poker
So the superbowl is in detroit this season, as well as two poker rooms. With not a whole lot to do in Detroit, I'm thinking the poker rooms will be bumping.
Has anyone here played in poker rooms when the superbowl is in a particular city? I imagine great games and very crowded. Detroiters, what are you expecting? |

Re: The Superbowl & Poker
I was working in nightclub when the superbowl was in Atlanta, we were slammed. I was asked by 3 hall of famers on 2 seperate occasions where they could get some coke. The streets were flooded with drunken idiots, and they closed off the nieghborhood I was working in to pedestrian only and made open bevarge containers legal in that area.
I'm in Houston now with an ofice job, people got really carried away for it this time. Trying to rent out their homes and apartments. Businesses near the stadium were trying to rent out their parking lots for pivate tailgating areas. The area they have been trying to make into a trendy nightlife area was actually busy for once... This might seem to drift OT since there are no legal cardrooms in either town. The point is, it's like mardi gras comes to town, everything will be busy for most of the week leading up to it, and the weekend of it goes nuts. |

Re: The Superbowl & Poker
I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras last year when the Super Bowl was in town. I went to Harrah's once, only to find out sportsbooks aren't legal there.
I thought about going to the poker room, and then remembered I was at Mardi Gras. Drink More, RedRum |
