Unless his 'draw' is AQ. (The main reason I posted this is that it's a pretty tough hand-reading exercise. Do people call 3 bets cold with KQ?)

I'm not so sure. Sometimes people auto-call in a raising war on the turn, or peel one hoping to spike a two-outer.
(One of my first posts ever was about a B&M guy like this, who called a turn bet three-handed with JJ on an AK98 board (I kept firing with TT, and knew for certain the cold-caller in between us had QJ) and swore up and down he was going to fold the river if I'd bet. Then again, that was the 3/6.)

Any guesses as to what opponent might have held?
