Default Pokertracker - I want to filter for those hands where...

I want to look at how profitable I am when I make it to showdown with Ace high. I would then like to possibility review those hands.

Anyone know how to do something like this? I'm running postgre pokertracker and have the postgre admin interface.

Misc. stats tab/show only hands that went to showdown. Double click on high card and a list of hands sortable by various parameters will show up.

Awesome, I didn't know about this (not to this level anyways), but I can only look at two hands at a time in my window which sucks. Also, I can sort for those hands where I made it to the showdown but can't find a way to filter those hands where I made it to showdown, which is infinitely more useful. Any more tips that I am missing?

LOL, no.

Anyways, I quickly went through this list and added up all the hands I made it to showdown (I only have a sample of 10,000 hands and only 74 of these are included in high cards that went to showdown) and I've lost a significant amount over these 74 hands.

I'm profitable with high cards overall in this sample, but when I go to shodown I lose 1BB/hand.

You have to take your overall results here with a grain of salt. Usually when calling a river bet with ace high, you're taking a stab at winning a decent sized pot with a hand that beats only a bluff.

Since you managed to get to the river with no pair, it seems reasonable to assume that you figured you had enough outs to continue past the flop and turn. Thus, you can't really infer that you're going to the river too often with unimproved aces just by looking at these hands.

Furthermore, looking at the actual river call, you're expecting to win far less than your share of pots. Usually by the time you call the river, the pot is laying you somehwere around 4:1 or better to call.

Therefore, you should expect to be losing a fair amount with these hands. The fact that you have a negative winrate in these situations tells you very little (if anything) of whether or not you actually played them correctly.

As an aside, it might be interesting if you could compile hand histories of each of those hands and run them through pokergrader. That might give you a better feel for the theoretical values of your hands (as your relative pre-flop and flop strength should be better taken into account).
