Default betting turn on mono board

As a general rule, is it best to check the turn through on a monotone board when HU? For example, you raise UTG with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], the BB calls and the flop comes all diamonds KT3, check/call, the turn comes 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], would it be best to check this through on the turn to induce a bluff on the river and guard against a turn CR bluff? What other factors should be considered here? I'm guessing it's not as easy as just applying a simple rule.

You bet. You may get a better hand to fold. It's rare if anyone is going to c/r bluff you in that spot as you are very possibly representing a high flush card given how you played the hand. I've seen people lay down flopped baby flushes in this spot as they try and be sneaky and wait to the turn to pop it then get what they think is outdrawn. But if you're going to call a bet on the river anyways, give them a chance to fold a possible better hand on the turn. Then if they call, check behind on the river. Same price, but the fold equity makes that bet better than just calling the river bet.

But yes, if you check, player depending, you will call the bet on the river. Many times they'll check the river too, and fold to a bet.

But the pot is also small. 3BBs going into the turn. It's not a crime to be bluffed out of a small pot once in awhile.
