Abit mobos are fine. They are geared toward overclockers and performance nuts. That said, I prefer Asus motherboards. Intel motherboards are also good but they tend to be more expensive than the taiwanese boards per feature set.
Dual channel is goot. PCI-X is goot. Serial-ATA is goot.

[/ QUOTE ] Abit = "Cool" parts made for overclockers, low quality, bad reputation amongst serious users Intel = Rock solid parts made for the serious user Think about it, if you bought a Intel cpu, why wouldn't you want an Intel mobo? And why on earth would you ever want PCI-X in a computer made for playing poker?

First off, you linked to the 37 gig Raptor. Get the 75, or two of them. Your orginal spec was 300 gigs, how much room do you need?

But I don't mind, go and buy your shitty Abit and other asian crap, I won't help anyone that has problems with them. People always want the "cool" stuff, but it is also what makes all problems. I see absolutly no reason at all NOT to buy an intel mobo if you are gonna run an intel cpu.

I would definitely not pick an Abit board as my first choice (unless it was my beloved BH6) but I don't think I'd go with Intel over Asus. An overpriced sticker does not a good mobo make.
