Re: A few questions on live play in Atlantic City
Shoot, yr Canadian? You'll be all-right. Make sure that the only interaction you have is with the dealers, and tip the hell outtofem. (friend puts you on the list, GETS YOUR CHIPS FROM THE CAGE, and cashes you out) If they catch you, just say you didn't know cuz the drinking age is 19 in Cananda or somethin'. They won't give you your money back, but they'll probably let you off easy. I DO condone you breaking the law too, since the fact that the drinking age is 21 is total BS.

Don't bother trying to check out the Borgata. The staff there is pretty serious about carding people. I'm 24 but I look young, and I get carded nearly every 50 feet in that place. [/ QUOTE ] i'm underage and have never been carded there. |

Re: A few questions on live play in Atlantic City
I can tell you that carding at the taj has become the standard, for 1/2 no limit players. Not regularly but once in awhile the floor walks around and starts asking for id from the no limit tables. My advice is wait to January and plan another trip.

Re: A few questions on live play in Atlantic City
I played for almost 2 years in the taj before i was ever asked to leave the room. i was ided once and they let me slide. ME and friends (some were under 21) played inthe taj almost every wekened of last summer, we never had problems there. Just be confident, and if they id you [censored] theres many other rooms you can try in AC, if you have more questions just ask me, i plaeyed there under age for a while.

Re: A few questions on live play in Atlantic City
Just a follow up guys. I just came back from AC yesterday. It was great! Amazing experience overall!
I played almost exclusively at the Taj, the staff and players there were very nice, except for a few asses. Some dumbass hillbilly shouted "No blacks allowed on the tables" after a black man leaves the table. He brought only black chips and that caused some delay. I guess the dude was trying to be clever or something. I brought nearly 1000 there and played 1/2 NL, I left with 1950. Took down a 500 dollar pot at the end from a very nice man with whom I was joking around all night. He made a bluff at the wrong time. On the last day, my friends and I noticed a bunch of drunks in the Resort's lame card room so we decided to sit down, +700 for all of us in total as I recall. For example, one of them called me on the river and showed a flush draw, there were two pairs on the board and his high card was 8. Don't worry, no colluding at all, I was trying to get their money too. Anyway, thanks to all for the advice. I'm already missing the tables. |

Re: A few questions on live play in Atlantic City
"Players new to live no-limit play will often accidentally string bet because they don't pick up enough chips before moving the bet forward"
This happened to me a few times on the first day. I learned to just say raise and take a few seconds to think about the amount. |
