Default Common preflop situation

30-60$ 4-handed game on Ladbrokes. Solid UTG open-raises. (Dont have much more informaion) Im next to act with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] If I call with my hand I am quite sure atleast the BB will come along. (I can play well after the flop)

Me and my friend are having a discussion. One of us says itīs the best to fold or re-raise and the other one says itīs better to simply call and see what the flop brings?

Whoīs right more often and is it even close?

I think KTs is a clear fold to a raise preflop, unless there is a big crowd playing the hand.

King_J:
I play at much lower limits, and the game in which I play is quite aggressive. What will happen if you re-raise? If a re-raise will almost always get the pot headsup, and if your opponent will open-raise with any two broadway cards (which is the case in the game I play in), then this is a raise or fold situation. Against a solid player, I'd tend to fold, as his median hand will be better than yours. Against a loose opener, I'd raise.

Calling (in order to induce a call by later players) is a bad option, in my opinion.

But when it is short-handed with the situation described here it is best for him to buy the button and raise to drive out the other players and get it heads up.
