I will still respond to lower limit posts too. Don't underestimate how bored a lot of us get.

Seriously. I probably post 5 posts a day in the microlimits forum.

I think it's a good idea to divide them, but not on account of skill, ego, or other irrelevancies. The bottom line is that a 1/2 game is drastically different from a 10/20 game simply in terms of playing style, and less good players vs. bad players - there are poor players at all levels. (but fewer as one ascends in stakes) Proper stategy is simply depedent upon game conditions. I typically play 10/20 and higher, and I wouldn't be confident in giving advice regarding a 1/2 game. Not because I'm so above those players, but because I don't have that level of familiarity regarding the game to give advice worth heeding.

I can see both sides of the argument here.

I, like many others, find the number of posts completely oppressive since the opening up of short-handed at PP.

On the other hand, the interplay between players at various stakes can be enlightening. As stripsqueez suggested, some of the posts by low stakes players can be the most challenging.

I would argue for a split, mainly because I think there will still be only one real “HUSH”, and that the cross-fertilisation between the two division will always exist. You will still find many experienced and higher stakes players posting in the low stakes division. It will just be more manageable.

On a related side note: I have been bothered by the enormity and turnover of 2+2 since arriving here. I can’t help but think that the players who were around in the “early days” benefited from a more intimate community with a better ratio of high-quality posts. Perhaps the only forums that retains anything like this are the Mid/High forums.

I think a solution to this would be for “study groups” to organise into units of perhaps 50 people. Each unit would contain 10 highly experienced players, 10 experienced players, 20 improving players and 10 complete noobs.

Such a system would not be viable on 2+2, but on an associated forum which would be sub-divided into study “class A”, “class B”, “class C”. Each class could even specialise on certain topics (blind defense, computer simulations, PT stats etc.)

Basically, I am envisaging some sort of egalitarian “research school”, with improved organisation.

Anyway, these thoughts just occurred to me…. I should stop rambling anyway, I doubt it would ever happen. Good/Bad Idea?
