Re: Insanity check
I'll give you 5.5 outs for kings and jacks and 3 for nines and fours. That's 8.5 outs so you'd need 4.4:1. You're getting 4.5:1 plus implied odds and the chance he is bluffing and gives up. Looks like a call after all though I may have been too generous.

Ok so no opinions what so ever? I think this is more interesting than the replies so far indicate. [/ QUOTE ] I agree that this hand is more interesting without numbers involved just because it comes up so often. What's everyone's line against an unknown? |

You don't think you're ahead but you can't imagine anything he could have that would make you want to fold on the turn?

Re: Insanity check
I pop him on the flop and bet the turn.
Raising the flop allows him to define his hand and saves you money in the end. If he 3 bets, he's got a PP or better, if he calls, he prolly has 2 overs or a draw. By raising the flop you make it very hard for Ax or 2 overs to call your turn bet and you can get a fold from hands you are behind. It also allows you to get to showdown for 1 sb cheaper than by just calling down. If you get c/red on the turn you can easily fold you hand. The other advantage of this line is that you get the most out of busted draws b/c hands like those will prolly c/f the river so this line allows you to win an extra sb against draws. |

Re: Insanity check
How many outs do I have against a pair of fours? Or an underpair?
And I'm ahead some of the time, of course. |

Re: Insanity check
Thanks for the response. I'll consider it when I post my final thoughts on this hand later.
I thought the flop was the street with the most (only) interesting decision, and I've been a little surprised by the focus on the turn so far. I have a question for you (and everyone else) though, how often do you think 75s, 35s or 87s will give up and check the river, if it goes bet call bet call on flop/turn, like in my hand? |
