Default Hollywood Casino, Aurora, Illinois Rake Decision Report

The Management posted a sign today in the poker room at the Hollwood Casino in Illinois stating that as of next week they will begin raking 10% per pot up to six dollars a pot. No admission charge to the poker room although the casino continues to charge for entry. The room continues to be open on the weekend (for now).

wow! in the B&M forum not more than a few days ago, i was informed that they were going to charge to play poker but drop the rake to $2!! this is very bad. very bad indeed. i fear public poker in the Chicagoland area might shrivel up and die. this is a travesty. stupid Illinois Gaming Commission.

No, there is no bad beat jackpot so no additional drop, but obviously this is a bad development and unfair to the players. Perhaps moe home games will develop in the area.

If i have my geography right, Marengo is not too far from Orland Park? correct? I live in Homer Township, near 143rd and Bell road. how far do we live from each other? and do you ever have a home game?

No---thats Mokena. Marengo, Illinois is actually in Wisconsin or something. Just down the road from Harvard--where they used to have a statue of a cow in the main town intersection.

Anyone interested in home games in chicagoland area is welcomes to email me as I run games from time to time in algonquin and hanover park from 3-6 to 8-16, and am also familiar with a few other games around.
