Default TT laydown vs LAG and 2+2er

At the time I did not know BB in this hand was 2+2 but he had solid numbers like 24/14/2 and a bit after this hand gave me the sup bro? which was kinda a sweet compliment because I had only a few hands with him. UTG is a typical LAG.

So why did you check-3bet such a drawy flop? Wouldn't you rather face UTG with 2 here?

Isn't this a standard cap preflop? Do you not cap because a solid player is 3betting out of the big blind?

edit: oops, read it as if you were on the button. Definitely don't like a cap here from the small blind.

This reasoning confuses me. Don't you think that the big blind will only be raising with a better hand so the flop gaybet is counter productive? Please explain your reasoning
