Trips and a flush on the river
$25 PL Omaha Hi/Lo (10 handed)
SB ($24.75) BB ($14.65) Hero ($24.75) UTG+1 ($28.30) MP1 ($17.15) MP2 ($19.05) LP1 ($23) LP2 ($11.42) CO ($49.01) OTB ($7.52) Preflop: Hero is in UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero calls [$0.25], UTG+1 calls [$0.25], (1 fold), MP2 calls [$0.25], LP1 calls [$0.25], LP2 calls [$0.25], CO calls [$0.25], (1 fold), SB calls [$0.15] Flop: ($1.9) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (8 players) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets [$1.90], UTG+1 calls [$1.90], MP2 folds, LP1 folds, LP2 folds, CO folds, SB folds, BB folds I didn't try to CR because the table was very passive Turn: ($5.55) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets [$5.55], UTG+1 calls [$5.55] Obviously a good card for me. My flop bet probably cleaned up my low draw so if I can get a low card I will jam and if I catch a non heart high card I will value bet. River: ($16.1) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero???? Ugg. I hate being OOP Opponent is a LAG (VP$IP around 70 and Post Flop Agg around 2) and a showdown junky (WtSD 40 and W$SD 40). Being so loose he could have a variety of hands that I beat here but being a LAG I am afraid to check because he may try to push me off the best hand after a check on a scare card. What does everyone do on the river? I think the rest of the hand is standard but I have been surprised when I though that in the past so comments on other streets are welcome as well. |

Re: Trips and a flush on the river
Your hand is really marginal now. The flush hits, but so do all manner of straight draws. Unless he is really bad, you're beaten. Problem is, he's really bad.
Check/fold should be OK even against this opponent. Still, if his default is to pot the river when checked to, this might be a good spot for a donkishly small blocking bet. Very player dependent. If he has little (i.e. A4K7), he might want to get to showdown cheaply or fold. If he's LAG enough to reraise bluff a tiny bet, you should just check and fold to a big bet. |
