Odds to hit a straight flush
What are your odds to hit a straight flush on flop if you hold suited connectors?

Re: Odds to hit a straight flush
Depends on how many straights the connectors can make.
Connectors that make 1 straight (AK) 19599-1 2 straights (KQ) 9799-1 3 straights (JT) 6532-1 4 straights (T9) 4899-1 |

Re: Odds to hit a straight flush
Can't give you 1 number unless you know which specific connectors they are.

Re: Odds to hit a straight flush
(2 + 2*2 + 2*3 + 7*4)/ 13 / C(50,3) =~ .000157 or 6369:1

(2 + 2*2 + 2*3 + 7*4) [/ QUOTE ] Can you explain what those numbers represent. I can't figure it out. |

Re: Odds to hit a straight flush
2 is the number of ways A2s and AKs can make a str-flush
2*2 is the number of ways 23s and KQs can make str-flush etc.. It would have been clearer if I had written it out like: 2/13 * 1/C(50,3) + 2/13 * 2/C(50,3) + 2/13 * 3/C(50,3) + 7/13 * 4/C(50,3) 2/13 times your suited connector is AK or A2 in which case you can only make your straight flush one way. 2/13 you have 23 or KQ and can make the straight flush 2 ways, and so on. aloiz |
